The biennial conference for the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) will be held in Savannah, Georgia from September 26-30, 2012.

The SACES Executive Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the SACES 2012 conference, September 26-30, in Savannah, Georgia.  We invite proposals for the conference that address all areas of counseling, counselor education, and supervision. 

Pre-conference sessions and the Emerging Leaders Workshop will occur on Thursday (9/27), with a welcoming reception Thursday evening.  The conference educational sessions begin Friday (9/28) and run through Sunday mid-day (9/30).

The conference hotel is the Savannah Marriott Riverfront (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/savrf-savannah-marriott-riverfront/), which has a beautiful view of the water and is near the historic district and River Street where there are unique dining and shopping available.

DEADLINE: Submissions must be received by January 31, 2012

Submit program proposals electronically at: https://coe.winthrop.edu/counseling/proposal_submission.htm  (**CUT AND PASTE INTO YOUR WEB BROWSER**)

Electronic Program Proposal Format:

Program Title: Limit title to 12 words or less for inclusion in the conference.  Your title should clearly and accurately describe the focus of your presentation.

Indicate type of session: (1) 50 minute content session; (2) poster session; (3) 50 minute roundtable discussion session.
SACES will provide one LCD projector/screen combo in each content presentation room.  Any other A/V needs (e.g., Internet access, DVD/CD players, televisions, etc.) are the responsibility of the presenter.

Format Flexibility: Please indicate whether you would be willing to present your program in an alternative format if space does not allow for acceptance in the format you have proposed.

Chair (contact person): Provide complete contact information for the program chair (main presenter), including name, institutional affiliation, primary mailing address, day and evening phone number, and e-mail address.

Co-presenters: Provide complete contact information for each co-presenter for the program, including name, institutional affiliation, primary mailing address, and email address.
Note to student presenters: Please list your college or university as your institutional affiliation.

Reminder: Your name may only appear on two presentations, whether you are chairing or co-presenting.

Synopsis of Program: Provide a 200 word (maximum) synopsis of the content of your program.  Be as clear and concise as possible, with the goal of providing participants with a brief overview of goals, objectives, content, and presentation format of your program. PLEASE verify the word count; this will appear in the conference program, and anything over 200 words will be truncated to the closest complete sentence.

Grant Information: This year, the SACES Executive Committee is interested in hearing about your grant experience.  If you have written a grant and obtained significant funding from an outside funding source, please consider sharing your information and expertise at the conference.
