Call EXTENDED for SACES President-Elect Nominations
The SACES Executive Board is extending the call for nominations for the SACES President-Elect (2027-2030) through 11:59pm on Monday, September 7, 2026.
● SACES President will serve a 3-year term. President-Elect (2027-2028), President (2028-2029), and Past-President (2029-2030).
The board accepts nominations and self-nominations. Nominees must meet the criteria below for applications to be considered: SACES President
1. Teach at an institution or live in the SACES region and SACES Member in good standing (at time of nomination)
2. Demonstration of leadership skills as evidenced by active service to SACES region, and/or other professional counseling associations
3. Demonstration of commitment to SACES as evidenced by one of the following:
a. Service to SACES via at least one of the following positions: elected SACES officer, chair of SACES committee, or former graduate student representative.
b. SACES Professional Member in good standing for at least 5 years (at time of nomination).
4. Have attended the SACES Bi-annual Conference
5. May not hold any elected or appointed office that may present a conflict of interest during their whole term of service as SACES President.
6. Demonstrated commitment to counselor education and supervision and the values of the profession.

We also encourage you to review the operations manual on our website that includes an extensive list of this position's roles and responsibilities. Your SACES membership must be active for your application to be considered.
All applications should include the following three documents submitted in one file:
1. A 500-word statement of interest by answering the following questions:
a. Provide a rationale for why you would like to serve in the desired position?
b. What contribution(s) would you make as the SACES leader?
c. Describe your commitment to counselor education and the values of the profession.
d. Provide a description of your leadership style.
e. Describe the experiences and skills you have to prepare you to fulfill the SACES leadership position's responsibilities.

3. A professional photo to be shared on the SACES website along with your candidate statements. SACES will only share your candidate statement(s) and photo on their website if the SACES EC selects you to appear on the election ballot.
